Shotgun scope selection help needed
Question:
I would like to purchase scope for my 870 to mount with a B square mount, but I need a recommendation on a shotgun scope that has some decent low light gathering. It seems like most of the "shotgun" scopes have small objective lens openings (20 mm) I don’t get it. I don’t mind spending a few bucks on something that will last a while. (But not a million on some super fancy thing I don’t need) Any mail order dealer recommendations also welcomed. Thanks in advance JOSH Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Try a Tasco "Bantam" 1.5x-4.5x. It has a 32 mm objective lens and works ekcellent on my Remington 1100. You can buy this scope for $60 through Cabelas. The magnification is perfect for a shotgun because you can put it on high power for stand hunting and turn it down some for drives. You certainly don’t need a 9x scope for a shotgun because you can’t shoot that far. I will say that a 20mm objective lens is probably adequate enough though, as I know of several friends of mine that have them. Good luck! > Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: > http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
