That’s sad. I’m almost 45, and I love to learn new things. In fact, I changed my mind about prong collar a year and a half ago. Not that I’ve even had the need to use one, but I understand why they are used, and how, used properly, they can save the life of a dog.

Well Harlan, she’s as lousy as a bum and a heckler as she is a dog trainer, but what she is really doing is FIGHTING for her RIGHT to HURT YOU… Think about it, Harlan, think HARD. She WANTS to HURT you. She WANTS other terri’s to HURT their Harlan’s too, so she doesn’t LOOK out of step. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Why be so closed minded? That’s the dog trainers PREROGATIVE. Don’t say you wouldn’t use that method if the need arose, like maybe if you needed to get reliability from your dog so you’d get points and ribbons. You never can tell if maybe sometime you’ll want to get the most out of your dog. If it hasn’t been needed yet, it’s still an option if you keep an open mind. My husband just told me a story that I am appalled to hear. Apparenly, someone he witnessed while hunting pheasants used the whistle technique to try to control his dog. The dog wouldn’t respond, so the guy blasted him with his shotgun. When I exploded in my disbelief, I was told that there had been some fur traps set out in that area that a dog had previously gotten caught in and died. The guy claimed that he was trying to keep his dog from entering the "trap" area. I think this guy is full of shit and should be shot himself. If he can’t control his dog enough to keep him out of the trapping area, then he shouldn’t have his dog out in the field… regardless of the excuse of the traps. Let me know what you think. Pam

It pisses me off that assholes armed with a shotgun think they know enough to fire a load at a dog just because they aren’t smart enough for the dog to listen to them. Pam
