Tony,
: Can some one please tell me how to reload cartridges, and what to buy. Can : you buy a kit? : Thanks You might want to take a look at the Winchester Reloading Guide. It’s on line at: http://www.winchester.com/ It has a pretty good section on what’s important, what’s not. As for a "kit", you’ll probably end up getting a "press" or "reloader" and then purchasing the components seperately. Look through lots of data, try some loads based on your objectives (i.e.; low recoil, high velocicy, etc.) and decide based on performance from your shotgun(s). Remember, reloading doesn’t make the sport less expensive, it just get’s you more bang for the $. Good luck, -Scot — *** ANTI-SPAM ALERT *** Note the "removethis." in the return address. *** Scot E. Tony: Reloading shotgun shells is easy. Here are the necessary steps: 1) Buy the Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook 4th Edition. Read it. Pay close attention to chapter 9 which gives you the step-by-step instructions on reloading on a single-stage loader. 2) From the loading tables, determine the load(s) that will suit your needs. 3) Go out and buy a MEC 600 Jr. Mark 5 (as shown in Chapter 9) and the necessary reloading components — shot, wads, powder, primers, additional powder bushings, and hulls if you dont’ have your own supply already. 4) Following the instructions to the letter, start reloading shells. 5) Shoot same at your earliest convenience. If you are shooting trap, skeet and sporting, you may want to move up to a progressive but only do so after you’ve loaded a few thousand on the single-stage. Even after moving to the progressive, I kept my MEC 600 for short runs of speciality rounds. The MEC 600 is about as fool proof as any reloader can be. Follow the instructions and you’ll be fine. Seems like most people I ask, reload shotgun on a MEC of some type. The majority seem to use the MEC Jr. Anyone use Lee, Hornady, Dillon or any other companies product? Just curious how many other brands are out there. rc Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Sure. I’ve owned both MEC and Hornady and have loaded on Posness Warren as well. I choose the Hornady APEX for several reasons, ease of operation being key. -Scot : Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: : http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/ — *** ANTI-SPAM ALERT *** Note the "removethis." in the return address. *** Scot E.
