Mossberg 500 question.
Question:
How can I put a scope on a Mossberg 500 shotgun without drilling into the receiver? The receiver is aluminum and I do not want to drill into that. There has to be some other mount. I own a Mossberg 835 with aluminum reciever that was drilled and tapped at the factory. Therefore, I don’t think that drilling and tapping the 500 should be a problem. Talk to a gunsmith! My gunsmiths advises against taping the 500 and continue using the side the side mount I got from Cobela’s. Cost was under $40 4 years ago.
