Clean Kill ? >= A "clean, quick kill" is usually a shot right throught the heart or >=lungs.Clean means that there isn’t much suffering or blood and guts >=coming out to wound.  Quick usually means that the animal falls where it >= was standing and doesn’t run a distance before dying.

        > = Kyle >Is that truly the accepted definition of a "clean kill" as it applies >to hunting?  I guess that I had assumed that the phrase meant e.g. a >heart/lung shot as opposed to a gut shot.  And that "quick" meant >simply within a short time of the shot, not necessarily that it >didn’t run at all.

Hmmm? I havn’t seen too many "clean kills" then if one the criteria is no blood coming out of the wound. "My" version of "quick and clean" has "quick and clean" being synomous and it means that the animal is dead within seconds and not minutes. Using Kyle’s interpretation, no bowhunter would ever get very many "quick kills". And that ain’t so.          –          Best regards, >Charlie "Older than dirt" Sorsby      Los Alamos, NM     "I’m the NRA!"
