Brass for .307 winchester

Question:

Winchester has stopped selling .307 brass as a component. There is precious little available. However at Quality Cartridge we form .307 from a more common caliber, yes it’s a bit of work, but no the worst we’ve had to deal with. Check out our web site at http://www.owlnet.com/quality  and give us a call we can help you out of your jam. Peter G. Can you form .356 brass, too?  I have a good supply of 18-20 boxes, but I’m always on the lookout. Thanks, Chris Murphy Baltimore, MD Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Response:

Sure can! In fact, pick nearly any caliber, no matter how obscure, old, odd or obsolete and chances are we can provide either empty brass or loaded ammo for it.         Peter G. Can you create wildcat cartridges to my specification:  Brass, reamers, dies? (Actually I want to create a wildcat out of .303 British brass for use in my break-open single shot). If not can you tell me who does this? Thanks. 1-506-832-4929 Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Hi, if you’re considering something like this get the Brownwell’s catalog…and RCBS and LEE too…depending on what you want it may be a custom order…but RCBS will make custom dies etc…look thru the loading, parts, gunsmithing services, etc sections of shotgun news too. why are you interested in a .303 wildcat??  just because of the rim? there are some european wildcats based on the .303…but you might be better off working from something else if you can do it in a semi-standard custom as opposed to a 100% one of a kind. — You Have To Be An Honest Man To Live Outside The Law.
