Barrel Question
Question:
Hell, I have gone from no shotguns to 3 in 2 months- My buddy asked me if I wanted his uncles shotgun? I asked what is it and he said he realy didn’t remember. Well his uncle won this gun in 1982 at a church picnic turkey shoot- He was 75 and the gun is a remington 1100 12G ( came in box and paperwork, this gun probably can be called brand new)and has a iron sighted deer slug barrel it doesn’t look like it has ever been fired) he thinks his uncle fired it a few times, the bluing in the chamber is stell intact. (the uncle stopped hunting after heart attack and bypass surgery) and then he gave the gun to my friend- he never shot it in 10 years he had it- Boy oh boy I was shooting this weekend , and this thing is a powder puff! feels like silk! Finaly the question- Is it worth it going to a removable chocke barrel for the gun? And!!! Does anybody have one to sell Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

It’ll cost you $150-200 depending on where you go. I have one, but it’s the only barrel for my 1100, so I’m not selling. samg Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

: Finaly the question- Is it worth it going to a removable chocke barrel for : the gun? And!!! Does anybody have one to sell If all you’re going to shoot is slugs at deer, it’s not worth it. If you plan on using the gun for a variety of shooting, i.e.; trap, skeet, upland birds, waterfowl, etc., it’s definitely worth it. I highly recommend a 28" Rem-choke barrel (30" if you’re fairly tall). You can mail order one from Cabella’s, etc. or if you’re close to one of the Cabella’s stores (NE or MN), stop by and peruse the bargin cave, I got a 28" 11-87 target barrel there. -Scot — *** ANTI-SPAM ALERT *** Note the "removethis." in the return address. *** Scot E. Definitely. You can get a barrel for about $180 from Cabela’s. I suggest a 28" barrel length. Dave Manfred and Remy (GSPs) and Mauser (GSD) http://www.geocities.com/yosemite/rapids/7061 Earth First!
