Wife and I hunting in Oregon this year…HELP????
Question:
Hi, My wife, (fromNew Zealand) and myself ( from North carolina) will be hunting in Oregon ( we live in the Eugene/Sprinfield area). It is her first experience hunting and she wants to do it all, elk, bear deer, quail, pheasent, dove, duck goose, etc. (I have finally found my true soul mate…a woman who loves to hunt…hehehe) What I am inquiring to is what to start her on, dove perhaps? and where in the Eugene area is good for all this type of hunting, especially public lands? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
Response:
I would start her out with grouse. They are common in this area and relatively easy to hunt. You can find them easily in the hills around Marcola. I hunt above the rifle range out there. Grouse season is open now and no special tag is required other than the upland game bird stamp. Let me know if you need any more information.
