T/C and Knight ML's
Question:
I am thinking of trying a Inline ML next year and have been looking at the T/C Black Diamond or the Knight Bighorn. Anybody used either of these guns? Thanks. Mark Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

I cant recommend the T/C inlines enough, they have the "quick load" muzzle, I start the bullet with 1 push of My thumb, no more starter ball. I to was looking at the Black Diamond, then I saw the T/C "Woods Rifle" at walmart, and this thing looked just like the Black Diamond, but was only 199.00. The woods rifle was not listed in the T/C catalog, or on there web sight, I finally called T/C and was told by a tech, that the "woods rifle" was basically a BD, with a 1" shorter barrel, and cheap plastic sights, made just for Walmart. Well I was putting a scope on it anyhow, and have not been disappointed with it. Nick Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

I have an Knight Rifle (American) and I think it is the best muzzleloader that you can get. I have seen and used several others (Ruger, Remington, ect) and right now I wouldn’t trade it for a muzzleloader that costs 3 times as much.

T/C Thompson Center Arms made in USA in the state of New Hampshire. I don’t own a Knight, some folks like em, I do own 7 T/C’s + 4 CF barrels. I have the firehawk inline in .32, .50,+.58, the PA hunter .50 in flintlock, and the Encore 209 .50. I love all and wouldn’t trade any of em. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > I have an Knight Rifle (American) and I think it is the best muzzleloader > I am thinking of trying a Inline ML next year and have been looking at the > T/C Black Diamond or the Knight Bighorn. I just purchased a T/C Black Diamond Extended Range about 6 weeks ago (right before elk season here in CO). I have not been real happy with it. On the second shot at the range, the 209 primer adapter screwed up (little spring wound around it came loose and primer stuck). The next outing at the range, the front sling swivel pulled out of the stock (I had a Harris bipod attached to it). T/C was very prompt in sending me a new 209 primer adapter, but the other happened too close to elk season and I had to epoxy it in and make do. Will probably contact them on that shortly……seems like that "lifetime" warranty may come in handy on this gun!
Other than these problems, it seems to shoot OK and I do like the QLA. I too was considering a Knight, and somewhat regret I didn’t follow through on it…. Randy

My experiences with T/C have been the opposite. I have had very good results with their guns and they have proven to be reliable and tough. I am also a beliver that any manufacturer can have a product come out that appears to have been made after 4:45pm on a Friday, so I would get ahold of them and express your concerns. You wouldn’t have gone wrong with a night either as they also make very fine weapons.
