Tasco Scopes
Question:
I just bought a Tasco 10X40 Target Scope. It seems to go out of focus at anything above 20X at 100 yds or more. I have checked the rear focus and tried the entire parallax adjustment. Just a little tweaked right now..has anyone else had any problem with these Tasco scopes? Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Only with every variable Tasco I’ve used. My advise would be to stay away from Tasco’s. There are some very good scopes out there for comparable prices. That are far superior to a Tasco. If you ask anyone one that shoots seriously they’ll tell you Tasco’s aren’t known for being great optics, they’re known for being low priced optics. Yes, I have the same problem with my 8X32 Tasco. It gets fuzzy about 24X. I think as soon as I get a chance I will buy a Burris. Everyone I know has Burris Scopes and they focus great! Lance Don’t put all the Tasco scopes down just because of the ones you had. Like I said, I have had this scope on the Remington 742 since 1978, and have not had ANY problems with it. I live in Alabama, where we have a large bag limit and long season, and have probably killed 50-60 deer during this period. I have also killed several pronghorns in Wyoming with it. NO PROBLEMS. <SNIP> Hi, Which scopes do you find superior at a comparable price? You’d better stand well back!! BTW, how is it inside 100 yards? You may have bought a scope for air rifle. I’d have it back to the shop now before they bank my cheque. While they’re obviously not a leopuld, they are an order of magnitude better than the ONE tasco I bought. samg Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

I have a Tasco World Class 2×7x40 that I purchased in 1978 for about $50 and put it on a Remington. I have never had a problem with it. Glen Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Tasco makes an ok fixed scope for small game but the lens quality is just what you pay for- not much. rule #1 of optics- Buy the best you can afford- It does make a difference. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

I bought a Tasco product a few years ago and never could get it to focus properly. I sent it back for a refund. Since then I have put a little extra money out to buy optics of reputed higher quality. He says he can’t see .22 cal. holes at 100yds with it. He sent it back to Tasco, they sent him a new one. Still screwed up. Dealer that sold it to him offered him a whole $125 to take it back. So, he bought a Leupold. Richard Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
