And now Beretta own Sako, Sako own Tikka. The importer for Tikka in the UK has changed to the Beretta importer (surprise) and suddenly Tikka shotguns are marketed under another name. I have an older Sako 30-06. The gun is great. Here are the problems as I see them. If the gun has a clip buy an extra now because later you won’t find one. I also have an older 22 and wish every gun shot and functioned as these two. wireless.com>, you say… > Anyone have any experience with the Sako rifles. You will never own any other brand of Rifle. If it doesn’t shoot a reasonable group they will replace it no question asked. I own several in the Model 75. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text —— Original Message —– Newsgroups: rec.hunting Sent: Friday, July 20, 2001 2:59 PM > Anyone have any experience with the Sako rifles. Sako and Tikka? Excellent quality Scandinavian rifles. Don’t worry about the fact they ain’t built by Remmychester. Just enjoy good, old-fashioned quality. Sako Rifles are some of the best and most accurate out of the box. The company that produces them knows what hunters want. The older models are expecially wonderful and hold their value very well. For a time Sako produced Browning Rifles in the smaller calibers. I have owned a number of them. Jose Guerra. > Anyone have any experience with the Sako rifles. Have shot Sakos a few thousand times. In my opinion they will outlast Browning. Big point is that they are fine rifles. I shoot left hand also, and have used Sakos (only one of the reasons) because they were available left hand before Browning decided to do it. I have one that has been shot for over 50 years, with only a broken guard screw for the use. I routinely hunt with a long action V in 338, moose/elk, and have never has any problem. Anyone have any experience with the Sako rifles. I just ordered a hunter model 300 win mag lefthanded,, due to the fact Browning hunter model does not come in left handed, only the 300 BDL ultra mag. The Medallion left handed is almost a grand. I got the Sako for 600 bucks out the door. It will be delivered in 2 weeks from a dealer in Nevada. I wanted a Browning but my budget did not allow it. Remingtons and Weatherbys are expensive also if your a left hander. Mike Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
