Hi! I don’t know what "Russian" scope your father bought, but you can find different scopes made in China under the Russian licence and they really have bad performances. I spent few years in Russian army and I don’t remember what type of scope I had, but I like them because some of them also have rangefinder diagram presetted for objects 2.0 meter, 1.5 m and 0.8 m. So, it’s really easy to correct aiming. I have data about all (most of all) russians scopes in my computer, so, if you are interesting… Good luck!
