Question:

Since I’m some what new to this, does the same apply if you respond as a e- mail to the initial post rather than posting to the group? I thought I had sent a personal e-mail rather than posting to the group. any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. If you select the reply option from your news reader you will reply to the group.  I use Netscape and I have the option of reply to the group or reply all which sends the post to the group and to the e-mail address of the sender of the post I am replying to.  You may also click on the from line addressee and reply only to e-mail.  Hope this helps. > Since I’m some what new to this, does the same apply if you respond as a e- > mail to the initial post rather than posting to the group? just acquired a Ruger 77 in .284 and was wondering what it was worth??. It is about 85% and looks to have more wear from sitting than use. Any input will be appreciated. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

I have a Ruger 77 3006 thats about 20 years old and I shot a deer the beginning of December with it with no problem at all.  If it’s taken care of it will last a lifetime. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

So to with any firearm made since the turn of the century.  Take care of it and it will last several lifetimes.  I still shoot a 30-06 Springfield that my Grandfather purchased in the 30’s and had sporterized.  My brother’s only rifle is a M-17 Eddystone in 30-06 that was also a surplus buy by my grandfather.  He took a nice mule deer and an elk with it this past season. As for the original poster’s question of value.  You can only measure the dollar value.  The intrinsic values such as the memories are priceless. > I have a Ruger 77 3006 thats about 20 years old and I shot a deer the > beginning of December with it with no problem at all.  If it’s taken > care of it will last a lifetime. > Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: >         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
