rifled choke tubes?

Question:

# Does anyone have any firsthand experience with rifled choke tubes? Yep. Bruce, In my Mossberg 500 it makes a significant difference screwing in the Sniper Rifled Choke Tube as compared with using the Improved Cylinder Tube. Tightens the 100 yard groups up quite a lot.  It ain’t no varmint rifle but it does help A LOT. The gentlemen down at Johnson’s Sporting Goods tell me some of the shotguns with rifled choke tubes actually shoot a titch better than those with fully rifled barrels.  My cousin that is an engineer assures me he don’t understand how that could be but them boys sight in a lot of shotguns and surely should know. — Jack Griffes    jack_griffes AT hotmail dot com Country Jack’s Honeybee Farm Onsted, MI USA http://members.tripod.com/~Griffes/ Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/ To leave the Hunting listserv list, send a message with SIGNOFF HUNTING

Does anyone have any firsthand experience with rifled choke tubes? I had to have an inch wacked of the end of the barrel on ole betsy and had it fitted with choke tubes. I have always had outstanding accuracy with this gun and rifled tube vs. an improved cylinder or other choked tube. Has anyone conducted a study of the various tubes (rifled) and published hard data? With gun season a month away, I am anxious to find info before plunking down MORE money.
