Rifle for Bear and Deer

Question:

#I’d recomend a Browning Stainless Stalker in .300 Win Mag. You can #load a very effective 220gr in it, and can load down to 110gr # #_Tim Like Tim, I like the Browning in 300 win mag. I used the Federal premium 180gr Nosler Partition in mine.  Very accurate and potent. Mike Right now it’s your choice to own a gun.  Do nothing and it will soon be someone else’s choice. Response:

A lot of what you are trying to decide depends on your style of hunting and where you are hunting.  I have used both calibers on both deer and bear with top drawer results.  I will assume that you are hunting black bear and say that they can be a bit on the tough side if not hit correctly ( not to mention sort of cranky).  A bit more information would be helpful as for as area and style of hunting.  Send mail back! I’m hunting deer and,for the first time, bear this season. I’m looking to buy a Ruger, Marlin, Winchester, Browning, or Remington rifle. (Models of these happen to be in my price range.) I am also trying to decide between a 30-06 and a 7mm Rem Mag. Any help on rifle and/or caliber choice would be appreciated. Thanks.
