Rem. .260
Question:
I got a .260 Rem. last Christmas and worked up quite a few pet loads for my Savage. The best so far has been 44.6 gr. Reloder 22, CCI 200 primer and a Hornady 129gr. bullet. It usually groups a average .5" group at 100 yards. The next pet load is 44gr. Reloder 19, CCI 200 primer, 140 gr. Hornady A-Max or Sierra Gameking bullet. They both group in the same place. I chronographed this round and the velocity was 2664 fps. Average group size for this round was 5/8 to 3/4 inch. If you need more let me know. If I remember correctly, you have a Rem M7. A 3/4 inch group would be *very* optimistic given the short, thin barrel. I recently puchased a Remington Model 7 in Rem. .260 caliber. I just wondered if anyone out there has worked up any pet loads. Load info is still fairly hard to come by. The best I’ve worked up is 36 GR. IMR 4064 with a 140 grain moly coated bullet. If you have anything that shoots well, I would appreciate it.
