Question:

Using a scope mounted lamp on my.22 rimfire rifle, I  find the scope image is foggy.  Speaking to an acquaintance , he said he had heard of others having the same problem.  What am I doing wrong. Response:

Light scattering and flare in the scope lenses is causing the foggy view. Try taping or otherwise mounting the light source away from the scope – attaching it to the fore-end works well. TM Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Arthur, The usual reason I find for this is that you are getting reflection off the barrel and especially the front sight (if there is one fitted). Try fitting a small piece of "cowling" to prevent any light scatter. — Richard Whiteley www.sportingrifles.com Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
