Just neck up some 308 Winchester brass. I have a custom built .358 on a Remington 721 action. It has been custom throated for the 225gr nosler. With that custom throating the bullet does not set in the case to take up powder space. I load 51grs of Winchester 748 and get almost 2500fps from my 24" barrel. This is a very good cartridge out to about 200 yards with a good 250gr bullet. Allen Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

I have had good luck with 200 grain Hornady spire points. Many one shot kills that dropped in their tracks. Complete penetration and excellent blood trails are routine. This is on Pa whitetails that go about 160 lbs live weight. Shot a deer on the bench below me at about 75 yards one time. Bullet went in the neck/shoulder on the right side. Found it under the hide in the left flank area. No tracking on that one! If you want a light recoil, cheap load for plinking, try some jacketed pistol bullets. They’re a lot easier on the shoulder.
