Looking for cheapest ammos for hunting

Question:

I have a Remmington 280 rifle for big game hunting and a Colt 380 pistol. Ammos for the 280 are about $18 per box for 20 rounds. Kind of expensive to spend on practice shooting. Does anybody know a company that sells cheaper? Thanks in advance. James Before you buy. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

For a 280, that’s a decent price.  With the 280 not being one of the common calibers, it will be higher than ’06’s and 30-30’s. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Remington really humped the bunk with their .280 Remington 7mm Remington Express .280 Remington fiasco.  It’s a 30-06 necked down to 284.  If you were a reloader, it would be a breeze to get the componants together.      Store bought ammo is another story.  If you can’t find any in stock, and have to mail-order, you’ll get socked with hazardous material shipping charges.  You might consider swapping for an ‘06 or a .270 if you want to shoot a lot of factory ammo.
