I’ve only used .308 LMs, but out of my Steyr Scout the 150s printed right on top of a reference group shot with Federal Match and about 25% larger in diameter, and the 180s also printed to the same point of impact with a group about 50% larger than the Federal Match. I reload all of my own ammunition but when I read about The light Magnums I bought some in .308 Win and .243 Win. They won’t damage your gun and they are definitely hotter then the reloads I had which were reloaded to the Max. in the manual. I have 5 manuals and I always chose the max. load that I can find listed in one of these 5 manuals. They shot an inch higher at 100 yards then my reloads. They didn’t shoot as accurate as my reloads but they were plenty good for hunting. I won’t use them but thats just me because they are certainly faster and flatter shooting then most reloads in the same caliber. I just like to roll my own. Mike, I shoot the LM’s 165’s in my ‘06 and get sub-inch grouping. No other brand I have tried has come anywhere near the performance of the Hornadys in my rifle. They do, however,–and perhaps obviously–kick a bit more. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
