Gun Prices On The Rise
Question:
To all – We have just been informed by our firearm distributors that many firearm manufactures will have at least 2 price hikes before the end of the year to cover law suits. Some of the brands that are included in these price hikes are, Mossberg, Colt, Ruger, Remington, Charles Daly, Beretta, Hi Point, Rexio and the list goes on. Expect cost hikes in the range of 7% and higher. The first wave of cost hikes will occur in July and August. Mark Raso — http://www.raso.com Raso Rod & Rifle Are you Y2K prepared? No surprise there. Personally I would like to see gun rights advocates organize and jam the non emergency phone lines of the cities who have filed lawsuits for a week or two. For all they have said about recouping money from gun violence, the money municipalities spend on automobile related deaths and accidents is far greater as cars kill aproximately 4 times the amount of people each year that guns do and that isn’t even counting money spent handling fender benders. Of course, if these cities could get a handle on the drug and gang problems, our murder rate would be in line with the western europe as touted by gun control advocates. Archy E. Nowadays, in many of those cities doing that would probably be prosecuted as a felony. And remember that "F" is today’s "Scarlet Letter". > … For all they have said about > recouping money from gun violence, the money municipalities spend on > automobile related deaths and accidents is far greater as cars kill > aproximately 4 times the amount of people each year that guns do and > that isn’t even counting money spent handling fender benders.
Let’s be consistent: We say "Guns don’t kill; people kill"; likewise we ought to say "Cars don’t kill; drivers (people) kill." I will grant you that it is more likely that an unattended car might kill someone, than an unattended gun… > … Of > course, if these cities could get a handle on the drug and gang > problems, our murder rate would be in line with the western europe as > touted by gun control advocates.
If the government would declare defeat and end the "War on (some) Drugs", we probably wouldn’t have a "gang problem". It seems to have worked reasonably well with the repeal of (alcoholic beverage) Prohibition. I’d like for somebody to read Article III, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution, and explain to me why our government is not committing treason with its various "wars" on this-n-that. -jc- Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
