Thanks. My problem is I have a Savage 110 long action and a M8-6x Leupold scope with Weaver 2 piece base. I need to bring this scope back about 1/2" to 3/4" toward my head to focus properly. The only answer I know will be extension rings. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

The only answer I know will be > extension rings. Leupold and Burris makes extension rings….these are sometimes needed with the compact scopes they manufacuture. But….when you say "focus properly", you confuse me. Generally when the scope is too far away, or too close for that matter…it’s not the focus that is incorrect, but the sight picture. You generally will see a small circle off center. If things are out of focus, the occular bell can be twisted to adjust the focus. I have rather poor eyesight, and need to adjust the focus on all of my rifle scopes. Lance Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Sight picture is correct, my error. Just found/ordered some Millett exteded rings from Indy Optics. Should have them in a few days. Thanks to everyone for their help. Dennis. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
