Browning automatic rifle

Question:

I’m interested in buying a used BAR, but have gotten some conflicting information. Someone told me to make sure I got one manufctured in Belgium, not Japan. I mentioned this to a dealer, who told me they are all made in Japan today, that only very old ones were manufactured in Japan, and that there’s no difference in quality. Another dealer said that all BAR’s are still made in Belgium (none in Japan), but that some newer ones were assembled in Portugal. Who’s correct? Does it make a diiference, and if so, how can I tell? Also, any rec’s on scopes? Thanks. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Now the Bar are made in Portugal, but what is true that the Belgian ones were the best. If you want more information on Belgian weapons go to www.armes.be . I’m ready for further informations if you desire.  Bye. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text —— Original Message —– Newsgroups: rec.hunting Sent: Wednesday, August 08, 2001 12:31 PM > I’m interested in buying a used BAR, but have gotten some conflicting > information.
