BRNO rifles
Question:
I am considering a BRNO cz527 in a .223. Anybody out there had any experience with one good or bad? Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/ To leave the Hunting listserv list, send a message with SIGNOFF HUNTING

# # Any one had experience with Brno rifles/ Especially the cz 527? Gary Poking around and found that "Gun Test" had done a review on them. Their results proved that this is a "…easy to handle rifle…soundly built…and very accurate". They also commented that it was plain looking (who cares?). They had tested the .22 Hornet which delivered 3/4" grouping at 100 yrds…Not bad….. Good Luck on your choice! ## ## Any one had experience with Brno rifles/ Especially the cz 527? Hi Gary I’ve hunted with a Brno 601 Lux in .308 win for some years, and have become kind of attached to the weapon… Ok, I know that the mecanism isn’t as smooth as on a Sauer or a Sako, and that the finish isn’t the best. And the accuracy is good, but nothing better… Still – I must admit that I doubt I’ll ever part with it… I does the job ! We purchased a Brno 223 re ington just before our last hunting trip and used it with great success. It’s the new model I think that is also used for the 22 hornet and the 222 remington. Its a half inche performer on average at 100 yards with handloads (55gn Sierra and 26.0gn of ADI’s AR2206 with winchester small rifle primers). We decided on a 2-7 x 32mm Leupold scope which performs well in daylight and spotlight. The walnut stock has a fantastic grain to it and brings the face up to the scope nicely. The action is a little rough but through general use or grinding paste will smooth out the action beautifully. The trigger is an absolute pleasure, not sure if you get the adjustable version over there in America but excellent non the less. BAsically a commercial mini-mauser sclaed down perfectly for the small 22 centre fire family and I look forward many more years of use as there will have to be an extreme reason to part with it. I hope this biased amountof information is of use. #
