bedding a rifle-how?
Question:
Does anyone know of any good sources of information that will give complete and detailed instructions on how to glass bed a rifle? I’m also interested in the newer methods like pillar bedding and the full length aluminum bedding block stocks. However, my main interest is learning the glass bedding process so that I can try to improve some lower value rifles where I can’t justify an expensive aftermarket stock. A product called Accraglass(sp?) sold at most gun shops has pretty detailed inst. inside the box. I’ve used it twice..had to do some serious inletting of the stock to remove contact points rubbing against barrel. I’VE had the best luck with Aluminium pillars being installed…Benchrest shooter I know did the work.Also had bolt face squared,bolt lugs lapped,barrel free floated,ect.
