10mm for Deer & Boar

Question:

Would like any information anyone may have,   Would a  10 mm handgun would be a good choice for deer and wild boar  hunting at close range in central California. Thank You Michael Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Response:

I’ve shot a couple black bears here in Alaska with the 10mm.  If you put it in the right place, it works fine. Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Response:

If you’re a really good shot and the range is close and the game is under 200 pounds, then maybe the 10mm will work.  Energy is really minimal with the 10 on big game.  Hunt from a tree stand and have someone back you up with a rifle of at least .30-06 energy.
