small ponds , rivers, inland salt water
Question:
Don’t know a lot about jon boats, even though I have fished from quite a few that belowed to someone else. But, if you are planning to also use it for shrimping, I would suggests you would want something with a good platform at the bow and stern and one wide enough to give you a stable platform. And if you plan to take it in tidal water, you would be well advised to contact a marina in the Charleston/Savannah area for advice. A lot of fresh water gear, including boats, motors and trolling motors, don’t do well in salt water! And I think you might want to consider getting a slightly larger motor as tidal currents can be quite strong. — Go fishing. And may your fish be as big as your tales! Columbia SC, Lake Murray
