San Antonio Texas Hunting
Question:
I plan on moving to San Antonio Texas next June/July time frame. Anyone know of any free hunting area in or around San Antonio? Thanks, Rodger Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

For ducks/geese, you can go to the coast on either side of Corpus Christi. For doves, you should get one of the $40 Annual Permits from TPWD. For deer, you’re not going to be happy. It’s not "near" SA, but you might look at the Big Bend National Park. You can also come to east Texas to the National Forests there. Otherwise, plan on getting a lease. — + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Chris Barnes AOL IM: CNBarnes Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

You’re not going to like this. There is no free hunting near SA. 99.9% of the land is private. What you do is get a lease for deer or dove. Go towards Houston to go duck hunting, and a guide. For "free" hunting go to East Texas to hunt on US Forest land. Be sure to take a armored vest if you do and keep your head down. Hunting in Texas is different from other states. I suggest going to a local gun store and asking the proper questions. — Jim carry on Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at: http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/
