Bowhunting: String Trackers?

Question:

Has anyone used the string trackers? What brand? Did it work right the  first time as advertised? I’m thinking about getting one for next season. I’d guess it doesn’t effect your shot much out to 20 or 30 yards? (I wouldn’t shoot>30yds.) Thanks, EL

EL, Probably the most popular is made by Game Tracker ( available from Bowhunter Discount Warehouse). They will/wont work the first time, or every time for that matter. It is like any thing else that you put on your bow, something can go wrong with it, usally at the most inoppurtune time. Most of the time when they work, they will work great. They WILL affect arrow flight, even at less than 20 yards. So practice with it, & set your pin(s) accordingly. Watch the loose line that it doesn’t become entangled in your bow before you shoot. If you are a new bowhunter you will still need deer (blood)trailing knowledge, because the string will sometimes break. My personal experience;I hunt bear with them only when it’s raining. Get a spare spool, one for practice & one for hunting. Good Luck, Woody Williams If you’re too busy to hunt, you’re too busy.

Well, I don’t bowhunt, so I asked the two I work with what they thought of them. One had never used one, and the other used the Game Tracker. He said the major plus is that it can double as a stabilizer on the bow when it’s in place. He said it’s only downside is that you have to be VERY aware of your bow when you’re moving through the bush, or you may end up leaving a trail behind you… It tends to snag.  His two cents… —    Carpite Diem.
